Valentino Fashion Show. Pierpaolo Piccioli oferă o interpretare literală a „black tie” cu colecția toamnă 2023

Dar un alt lucru despre Piccioli și Valentino (și Valentino lui Piccioli, în special): deși sunt recunoscuți pentru calitatea rafinată și respectul pentru meșteșug, se știe că se distrează, fie că este vorba de culoare, un motiv sau o temă.

Așadar, invitația din toamna 2023 nu a fost atât de mult un indiciu de descifrat, ci mai degrabă o descriere destul de literală a ceea ce vom vedea pe podium. Notele emisiunii spun la fel, explicând că aceasta este o „codificare, nu un cod”, o provocare de a te juca cu cuvintele și conceptele, pentru a explora cum ar putea arăta ansamblurile cu cravate negre. Ar putea fi o cravată neagră adevărată cu o cămașă rochie albă (și sunt multe dintre acestea în colecție), dar ar putea fi și o cravată clasică cu nasturi, aruncată în aer în proporțiile unei rochii.

Apropo de rochii, nu sunt chiar atât de multe pentru toamnă. Accentul este pus pe piesele pe care ne sprijinim în fiecare zi. Asta nu înseamnă că nu există opțiuni spectaculoase pentru prietenii celebri ai mărcii, dintre care mulți s-au așezat în primul rând la debutul Săptămânii Modei de la Paris – mai degrabă, hainele de seară nu sunt la fel de delimitate; există printre, cu și ca uniformă pe care brandul o propune pentru toamna 2023. Există o rochie fără bretele din tul negru transparent peste o cămașă albă, cravată neagră și pantaloni negri, sau o rochie cămașă verde mentă cu o trenă ondulată. 

Uniformitatea nu este un lucru rău, afirmă Piccioli: „Omogenia, mai degrabă decât eliminarea individualității, poate forma un cadru pentru fiecare ființă umană, asemănările sporind diferențele, amplificând nuanțele”.

Ceea ce face, de asemenea, în cazul acestei colecții, este să îi permită designerului să sublinieze unele dintre codurile vizuale pe care le-a stabilit în anii săi la Valentino, cum ar fi accente de pene, flori 3D și podoabe. În ceea ce privește accesoriile, se pare că brandul a văzut reacția online la incidentele legate de încălțămintea de pe podium în ultimele sezoane și a trimis modelele în principal în cizme cu talpă plate și pantofi cu toc stiletto.
